basically they would take high priced items, such as this, and send an email to the high bidder claiming to have the product and sell lower than the final auction price. Some of the buyers would then be taken to another website to pay for the item/s or pay w/ CC over the phone. I forget EXACTLY how everything worked, but it involved phony ebay accounts or stealing other's reputable account numbers (claiming that ebay needed to verify passwords and such and sending emails concerning this). However it works, its better to pay a secure way such as paypal.
